Interior designer and blogger Karen Knox chose Factorylux products for the transformation for her loft, including the classic Maria Banjos in bronze with gloss black enamel lamp shades.
The bedroom wall lights were installed using products from the galvanised conduit range. Karen is a self-taught interior designer with a focus on affordable and achievable design - her website and blog are here. The loft project was at Karen's own home in Leeds and required the complete transformation of the space, including the installation of a large dormer and a new staircase. The overall design themes were a mix of Scandinavian and industrial design: minimalist features, exposed brickwork and pale wood finishes. The natural light in the space is maximised by the (almost) floor to ceiling aluminium framed windows in the dormer. The bedroom wall lights were installed either side of the king size bed under the apex of the pitched roof. The head of the bed is against the inside of the gable end and because Karen wanted to leave the internal brick work exposed, the wall lights were surface wired and mounted using galvanised steel conduit. The wall lights are available with three body finishes (brass, bronze and silver) and a choice of 12 lamp shades (six genuine vitreous enamel colours and six metallics). The components for the wall lights are machined in the UK and final assembly and testing takes place at the Factorylux HQ in Yorkshire to ensure exceptional quality, safety and durability. In addition to the bedroom wall lights, there's a simple plug in light on a hook by the window. The plug in lights are available to configure using the Made For You service. Choose from six types of plug, 50+ varieties of light cable, 15 types of lamp holder and dozens of light bulbs. When you are happy with your design, the simple light is hand built and dispatched for next day delivery. Start your design here.
