The popular BBC TV programme DIY SOS used Factorylux wall lights in the transformation of the home of a family struck by tragedy.
DIY SOS follows Nick Knowles and his team of trusty tradesmen as they transform the homes and lives of families across Britain. Last Thursday, Nick and the team travelled to Misterton in Nottinghamshire to help Paul Making and his six children. Paul's wife tragically died of cancer at the age of 27. Paul had started to extend the family's two bedroom home when the tragedy struck. More than 100 local builders gave a hand to completely transform the house and make it suitable for dad and six kids.
Factorylux has supplied lighting free of charge to several DIY SOS projects. For this project the designers chose the Maria Scorsese wall lights with small globe loop filament bulbs. The lighting is used to illuminate the blackboard where Paul and his family record their plans for the week ahead.
The Maria Scorsese wall lights were designed by Factorylux for Martin Scorsese's 2011 film 'Hugo' set around the Gare Montparnasse railway station in Paris - read more about the film lighting project here. The wall lights have both a knuckle joint and a ball and socket joint which allow them to be fixed in a wide range of positions.
The wall lights come in three finishes: brass silver and bronze. All the Factorylux wall lights are built and tested the UK to BS EN 60598 and are dispatched ready for safe and simple installation with instructions and necessary fixtures and fittings.
