Cleo Barbour's home is a two storey warehouse conversion in Westbourne Park, west London. Cleo runs the Cleo B footwear label and her home is an attractive combination of her colourful style with a decidedly industrial aesthetic, including the Factorylux industrial ceiling lights. Cleo's home was designed with the help of Alexander Owen Architecture. Downstairs is open plan with the original design elements of the former industrial building - exposed steel beams and shuttered concrete ceilings. The industrial look is maintained with grey walls and lime washed wood flooring, but then colourful elements - the wall art and cupboard fronts - are added to create warmth and visual interest. The kitchen features stainless steel work surfaces and shelving constructed from Kee Klamp style fittings. The light in the kitchen is provided by a galvanised conduit installation mounted on the shuttered concrete with rows of Maria Small Factory Lights mounted on conduit boxes. The industrial ceiling lights are finished with the Classic Edison Loop Filament Light Bulbs. The lighting conduit and wall and ceiling light ranges are designed for compatibility - the mounting holes in the bases of the Maria wall and ceiling lights are a standard 50.8mm apart to match the galvanised conduit boxes. The lights can therefore be installed on wall or ceiling mounted conduit. Cleo's take on the project is "The original features had been boxed in, so my plan was to reinstate some of the industrial elements but also make it feminine and colourful. It was quite a challenge, because obviously this wasn’t a predictable approach to the redesign."
