The Factorylux Bletchley Park opal glass lamp shades are used for the glass pendant lights at the Revolución de Cuba bar in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
Revolución de Cuba is on Parliament Street in the centre of Harrogate. The bar is styled to reflect Havana's unique take on 1930s/Art Deco style: dark tropical wood finishes, brightly patterned geometric tiles, wicker, leather and greenery. For anyone who has visited Havana, it's an instantly recognisable and evocative aesthetic. The glass lamp shades were re-created for the restoration of Bletchley Park, the home of British codebreaking efforts in World War Two and a birthplace of modern information technology. The shades are faithful copies of an original shade design found at Bletchley Park and the reproductions are formed by hand in the UK. The use of opal glass for the shades softens the light source and distributes light evenly, making the shades perfect for general or ambient lighting in a range of rooms and spaces. Although the design of the shade is from the early 20th century, the simplicity of the form makes it suitable for a range of interior design styles. The shades were configured into glass pendant lights for the Revolución project using the glass pendant light configurator. The designers chose bronze lamp holders and dark brown fabric cable to fit in with the overall aesthetic. The Bletchley Park shades - and the other glass shades in the Factorylux range - can be configured with a huge range of lamp holders, ceiling roses and lighting cable. When you're happy with the design, the glass pendant lights are hand built at our production HQ in West Yorkshire and individually tested and certified to BS EN 60598 to guarantee quality and safety. The lights are dispatched for next day delivery and readied for safe and simple installation. The Made For You lighting configurators allow you to create a range of bespoke lighting products.
