Glass Light Shades | Michael Ruh Studio + Factorylux
Michael Ruh Studio is a creative glass-making partnership between designers Michael Ruh and Natascha Wahl. They handmake strikingly attractive glass objects - tableware, vases and lighting - in a range of shapes, colours and textures. The glass light shades made by Michael and Natascha are equipped with Factorylux lamp holders and fabric cable. glass light shades Michael Ruh Michael and Natascha opened their own glass-blowing studio in 2004 and their work is both original and beautiful, with striking use of shape, balance, colour and texture. They attribute their success to traditional tools, heat, gravity, time and physical exertion. The studio collections are sold wholesale at trade shows, with individual products available through their online shop or at retailers in the UK (including Selfridges and the Conran Shop), Europe and north America. glass light shades cilindro Michael Ruh The glass light shades created by Michael and Natascha are exhibited and available with fittings from the Factorylux modular lighting collection. The recent exhibition at Maison & Objet, the global interior design exhibition, used a range of the Factorylux traditional filament, Eco-Filament and LED light bulbs in addition to the fabric cable and lamp holders. glass light shades rio domo Michael Ruh glass light shade esparto Michael Ruh The Factorylux Made For You bespoke lighting service allows pendant lights to be configured without a shade. Choose the 'Simple Pendant - No Shade' option on the first drop-down menu. The pendants are built, tested and certified to BS EN 60598 and dispatched for next working day delivery. When your simple pendant arrives, it can be fitted with shades from manufacturers such as Michael Ruh Studio. While Factorylux cannot compete the completely individual and organic nature of the shades created by Michael and Natasha, it does manufacture the glass lamp shades which were recreated for the transformation of Bletchley Park, site of the UK's codebreaking efforts in World War Two and a birthplace of modern information technology. glass light shades rio alto Michael Ruh glass light shades rio copper Michael Ruh All images courtesy of and copyright Michael Ruh Studio.
