A feature in The World of Interiors (WoI) June 2016 showed bespoke versions of products from the Factorylux wall and ceiling lighting range used for bedroom lights. The fittings were installed in the home of Helen Magowan. The WoI feature was by Dominic Bradbury with photography by Rachael A Smith.
Helen Magowan's west london home was originally a draper's shop. It was used as a launderette for a period before being restored by Helen and her husband Andrew. The downstairs living spaces are painted in Farrow and Ball's stiffkey blue with pale ceilings and stopped wood flooring.
The living rooms are furnished with an eclectic mix of mid-20th century furniture and imaginatively used reclaimed objects. The fireplace alcove in the sitting room is lit by a single Factorylux Maria 180 Architectural Light.
Upstairs, the additional living spaces and bedrooms are much lighter with pale walls. In one of the larger bedrooms, bespoke versions of the Maria 180 architectural lights are used for bedside lighting. The height of the ceiling and that it slopes meant the bedroom lights had to built to different lengths so they are at the same height either side of the bed. All the Factorylux Maria wall and ceiling lights are hand built at our production and distribution HQ in Hebden Bridge west Yorkshire.
