The Factorylux vintage lighting range has grown over the last couple of weeks with a new enamel colour – RAL 3002 Carmine Red – and a new metallic finish – silver nickel plate.
The light shades are are made exclusively and entirely in the UK by Factorylux to guarantee exceptional quality. Both the red and silver shades are spun from disks of high quality heavy gauge steel to ensure the shades won’t dent or warp.
The red shades are finished in genuine vitreous enamel – the most most vibrant and durable metal finish available. Unlike painting or powder coating, vitreous enamel does not flake or fade with age, so if you buy a Factorylux shade, it’ll look as good in 20 years as the day you bought it. Applying vitreous enamel is a skilled and time consuming process and Factorylux has become expert at producing lamp shades with an exceptional depth of colour. The latest colour is a deep red, close to a classic pillar box red, but a touch darker.
The silver shades are electro-nickel plated to give a bright silver finish which is extremely durable. Because the outside of the shades are polished, the silver finish is smoother and more reflective on the exterior. The interior is left unpolished – the spinning lines are still visible – to avoid reflective glare from the light source.
All the shades are available ‘shade-only‘ or as complete configured pendant lights specified by you using the Made For You lighting design service. Choose from hundreds of components – ceiling roses, lighting cable and lamp holders – and, when you are happy with your design, it’s assembled and certified to BS EN 60598 within 24 hours and dispatched ready for safe and simple installation.
