Factorylux is committed to minimising waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and ensuring it is safely recycled. Here's some important information about Recolight and recycling Factorylux products.

Factorylux products covered by WEEE

The following Factorylux products are currently covered by the waste electrical and electronic equipment Regulations: Factorylux is committed to minimising WEEE by selling only products which have a long life - long life products means less waste. All the above bulbs are exceptionally durable in comparison with other CFL and LED light bulbs. They are rated at 25,000 hours, which is almost 12 years at 6 hours per day. WEEE wheelie bin symbolIf the above bulbs fail, they should not be disposed of with general household waste because, like all other CFL and LED products, they contain substances potentially harmful to human health and the environment. They should be recycled separately from other rubbish. Factorylux is a member of Recolight, the industry scheme for ensuring the safe recycling of lighting covered by the WEEE regulations. Recolight services are free-to-use for consumers. Recolight has thousands of collection points around the UK and you can find your nearest one using Recolight's interactive map here. Products which are categorised as WEEE have a crossed-out wheelie bin symbol on them or their packaging. The Factorylux WEEE registration number is WEE/BK4953ZU. A copy of the certificate can be provided on request.

Factorylux products not covered by WEEE

Except for the above, all other Factorylux products are not covered by the WEEE regulations. Although other products are not covered by WEEE, Factorylux is committed to eco-design, resource efficiency and the safe collection and recycling of products at the end of their life. Factorylux designs products to be extremely durable, thereby reducing waste. It also uses only substances and materials which are not generally hazardous to human health. The primary materials are: steel, brass, copper, nickel, zinc, glass and ceramic. Except for ceramics, all the materials are universally collected - they have significant scrap value - at household waste sites for recycling. Please try to recycle Factorylux products. And if you struggle to do so, send them back and we'll do it for you.
