These ceramic cable holders evoke the old knob-and-tube system of wiring. Before the development of effective rubber or plastic cable insulation, bare wires were strung along ceramic pegs, and tubes were used when the wire passed through a wall or joist.The strands of two core twisted and three core twisted lighting cable can be splayed around the ceramic holder or two holders used to secure round lighting cable.
