The Factorylux Swan Neck Lights have been specified for and installed at the new Surrey showroom and workshop of Clare Laughland interiors.
The Swan Neck Lights, fitted with grey enamel kitchen lamp shades, are used to illuminate Clare’s extensive collection of pattern books, swatches and samples.
Clare’s showroom and workshop is based near Farnham on the Surrey/Hampshire border. Clare worked as a costume maker – for stage and screen – before starting her interiors business in 1999. The business has grown to seven employees and offers a complete in-house specification, design, manufacturer, fitting and installation service for soft furnishings. The Laughland Interiors website is here.
The swan neck lighting is used to illuminate the huge range of pattern books, samples and swatches housed at the Laughland Interiors shop. The swan necks are a good solution for lighting book cases and shelving. They project far enough out to effectively illuminate what’s on the shelving and, because the light source is between the viewer and what’s being viewed, there are no problems with shadow.
The swan necks are particularly suited to Laughland interiors – a low-ceilinged Georgian brick building – because ceiling mounted spotlights would be too low and recessed spotlights would require cutting into the fabric of the building.
The Swan Neck Lights can be designed using the Made For You Swan Neck Lighting configurator. Start your design by choosing from three swan neck lengths. The lights can be configured with a bare bulb or the genuine vitreous enamel, metallic and glass lamp shades in the Factorylux collection.
When you are happy with your design, your Swan Neck Light is hand built, tested and certified to BS EN 60598 at our production HQ in Yorkshire. The lighting is dispatched for next day delivery, readied for safe and simple installation with fitting instructions and all required fixings. In addition to the interior lighting, there is a configurator for external swan neck lights which feature the industrial lamp shades in six enamel colours and six metallics.
