Factorylux industrial wall lighting has been specified for the new offices of Disegno, the quarterly journal of design. The angled ceramic outdoor and bathroom lights have been fitted in both the kitchen and office areas.
Disegno is a quarterly print magazine dedicated to reporting on architecture, design and fashion. It’s unashamedly both highbrow and eclectic – the latest issue covers the impact of Brexit on design, an article on the relevance of architecture and design to MoMA, a travelogue about Bosnia’s future in furniture manufacture, and a piece on the importance of haptic feedback in textiles. In addition to the magazine, there’s also the website www.disegnodaily.com.
The new offices are home to Disegno’s publisher, Tack Press, and based in Haggerston, east London. The space is four times the size of Disegno’s previous office, with the increased room allowing for a more flexible working environment and can now house an extensive library of architecture, fashion and design titles.
The angled ceramic wall lights chosen by Disegno have a weighty industrial aesthetic. The base is off-white ceramic and there is a heavy glass cover and an effective brass cable gland. The ceramic wall lights are ingress protection (IP) rated to IP54 and available in two versions. Although both fittings can be wall or ceiling mounted, the angled light is particularly suitable for wall mounting, either pointing up or down; and the straight light suitable for ceiling mounting.
The industrial wall lighting at Disegno’s new offices is fitted with the SWISS-made Factorylux Edison light bulbs.
The Factorylux industrial wall lighting range includes extensive options in metal, ceramic and Bakelite. The classic simple Maria wall lights are available in vintage brass, antique bronze and a more contemporary silver nickel plate; and the complete range of Bakelite and ceramic wall and ceiling lights is here.
