Industrial Light Fittings | BLOK Fitness Space

The BLOK Gym in Clapton, east London opened in early 2016 to enthusiastic reviews. The fitness spaces and the cafe are lit by a range of Factorylux industrial light fittings - including Made For You metal pendant lights and wall lights, both installed using galvanised conduit.

BLOK is located in a rehabilitated Victorian tram depot. Many of the original features have been retained, including exposed brick walls, vaulted concrete ceilings, cast iron pillars and even some of the tramlines.

industrial light fittings cafe Where the original functional/industrial elements wouldn't work - for example in the changing rooms and cafe - these have been overlaid by sleek and modern ingredients: crisp painted plaster, wood in a range of hues and hews, and high quality fixtures and fittings. The quality of the fit and finish is complemented by stylish use of art and designs on the walls which echo the geometry/aesthetics of the building. The central table in the cafe is lit by a row of Factorylux galvanised Coolicon lamp shades with Maria Banjo wall lights and galvanised shades lighting the raised counter seating. The fittings are wired using a galvanised steel conduit installation. The design of the lighting perfectly complements both the original industrial features and the sleek modern design elements. industrial light fittings gym There are two studios, both dedicated to classes rather than exercise machinery. The studios are lit by Factorylux Galvanised 500mm reflectors with professional grade LED modules. The high performance of Factorylux lighting makes it ideal for lighting the exercise spaces. The choice of modules and module/driver configurability mean the brightness, colour temperature and colour render can be precisely specified and then guaranteed for the lifetime of the installation. Factorylux lighting can be configured and specified here. industrial wall light fittings Blok gym has been created by developer and builder Ed Stanbury and fashion photographer Max Oppenheim. There are a huge range of classes from boxing to meditation, including the eponymous BlokFit. Bookings can, of course, be made on-line and Blok has a pay-per-class rather than membership model. industrial pendant light fittings blok gym
