Cage Lighting Chandelier | House & Garden Magazine

A dramatic cage lighting chandelier made from Factorylux light bulb cages was featured in the May issue of House and Gardens. The chandelier was created by interior designer Caroline Holdaway and is a striking addition to the living room.

The cage lighting chandelier is installed in the home of Robin Muir and Paul Lyon-Maris in Hampstead, north London. The house was built in the mid-19th century as part of a group of artist’s studios and has a double height window. The bouquet of wire caged bulbs hangs in the light and airy double-height sitting room. The alcoves on both sides of the chimney breast are fitted with bookshelves which rise to the apex of the ceiling and a John Bellamy painting hangs on the chimney breast.

The balcony which overlooks the living room allows the cage lighting chandelier to be admired close-up. Additional lighting in the living room is provided by the Factorylux bare bulb pendant lights in front of the chimney breast and antique bronze Maria wall lights fitted high on the living room wall.

The Factorylux bulb cage collection includes four designs in a range of metallic finishes and powder coated colours. All the cages can be configured as single pendants using the Made For You bespoke lighting service. For a more elaborate design, the Maria Steampunk pendants can be fitted with the bulb cages. And for a cage lighting chandelier along the lines of the one in House and Garden, choose components from the modular range starting with a multiple outlet ceiling rose, lighting cable and lamp holders.
